Mike + Hailey // Tauranga Wedding, Charlemagne Lodge

Mike and Hailey recently tied the knot down at the amazing Charlemagne Lodge, in Te Puna. I’ve known Mike for quite some time and it was a real privilege to be able to document the marriage of these two, who so obviously share a very special relationship. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t slightly nervous for Mike and Hailey with the weather – we’d just had some of the heaviest and wildest weather of the year which made for a slightly crazy drive down the night before. Thankfully they ended up with pretty much perfect conditions – stoked! Thanks again both for allowing me to capture your day. Peace.

Arlene + Jake // Engagement Session, Auckland Botanic Gardens

Back in the year that was 2016….Jake, Arlene, Max (the fluffy one) and I took a walk through the Auckland Botanic Gardens the weekend before Christmas. This is their local park so I was given the grand tour while having a barrel of laughs taking photos of them all. It was a super relaxed session despite the blazing sun and heat! Naturals such as these will have a BLAST on their wedding day – it is going to be fantastic 🙂

Mudbrick Winery, Waiheke Island // Travel

We took a quick trip to Waiheke Island today to visit my brother who is back from London over the holidays. We took the ferry from downtown Auckland to Matiatia, and caught the bus up to Oneroa where we reluctantly had a coffee overlooking Oneroa Bay. We then walked to Mudbrick Winery on foot (its only a short 2km walk and takes about 15-20mins). What can I say about that place?! Its a fantastic spot and one heck of a wedding venue. The French waiter we had was a barrel of laughs and the food was fantastic. What more can you ask for…..Hapi Days 🙂

Long Weekend in Russell // NZ Travel Photography in the Bay of Islands

You know when you are in the throws of winter, and you really just need to ‘get away’? Yeah, that was us this past weekend. Russell is a favourite spot of ours and at just over 3.5 hours drive from Auckland it still feels like a world away. It takes us a little longer to drive than that – you need to stop at Kaiwaka for Dutch ‘drop’ (salty licorice for the uninitiated). I’ve started to notice that once I get on that car ferry at Opua something ‘clicks’ in me and I instantly feel like someone has switched my holiday switch.

Family Travels // Brisbane and Sunshine Coast

We had an awesome little getaway to Aussie in March this year. We’d been to Brisbane in 2007 which was my first ever overseas trip with my then-girlfriend (now my lovely wife!). Its amazing how much Brisbane has changed since then. I remember our initial impression was of a rather bleak and bland inner city (when comparing it with Melbourne) with not much to do. Its fair to say our impression has now changed dramatically since then – an abundance of cafes and active public spaces line the city streets. You can’t help but enjoy it.READ MORE

Autumn in Henderson // Auckland Lifestyle Photography

I had a funny sense of Deja Vu today as I decided to take a walk on a sunny day through the nature walks around The Falls Hotel in Henderson. I remember coming down here to take photos of the stream when I was fourth form in high School. I had my first camera, a Nikon FM10 (which was a fully-manual film camera), and the tripod that my Oma and Opa had given me for my birthday. It feels like only yesterday, but in fact was over 15 years ago!!! Freaky. Anyway, this was a lunchtime well-spent as you can see. Autumn is delivering the goods.
