Alice and Doug // Auckland Wedding at St Mary’s Chapel and Five Knots

A couple of weeks back I had the pleasure of photographing Doug and Alice’s marriage at the beautiful St Mary’s Chapel in Auckland. These two were so lucky with the weather! It had been raining earlier in the week and the forecast kept changing from sun to rain to sun…and luckily it settled on fine weather with just some pesky clouds rolling in come the evening. After the ceremony we boosted it down to Westhaven Marina under Rotary Power for some photos. The westie in me was well- stoked at that point to be hitching a ride 🙂 The reception was held at Five Knots on Tamaki Drive, and when I left they were both dancing the night away to some sweet tunes.

Anita and Adam // Hot Water Beach Wedding, Coromandel

I’m so excited to be able to post this here on the blog!

In late February I jumped in my car and drove down to Hot Water Beach in the Coromandel to photograph Anita and Adam’s stunningly beautiful, and stunningly HOT wedding. I Stayed at the fantastic Top Ten holiday park in one of the coolest cabins I’ve seen, and was fortunate to hang with this amazing bunch of people the day prior to the wedding. The Stone Terrace has an amazing view over hot water beach and proved the perfect location, even if it was like a solar crucible under a clear blue-sky summer day!

Nelson Mountain Biking Travel

Nelson Mountain Biking Trip // New Zealand Travel

This past week I was lucky to have four amazing days in Nelson, riding some incredible (and tough) mountain bike trails with my friend, Mark. He also happens to be my former manager so that worked out quite nicely didn’t it?! Thank you lovely wife for looking after the princess, I love you xo

On the first day we drove to Kaiteriteri Bike Park from Nelson. There are some amazing trails there the just seem to ‘flow’ around the various valleys that dissect the park. After bombing down a few runs and loosing it briefly (battle scars now on my arm), we took the bikes to Kaiteriteri Beach and cooled ourselves off in the blue waters that are the beginning of the Abel Tasman National Park. Very cool waters indeed, but what a beach.

USA road trip in California pacific coast highway

Our Trip to California // Travel Photography

In August we traveled to California to sample the USA for the first time. We saw it as a great chance to make the most of the cheap airfare on account of Sienna’s age (you pay next to nothing for an under 2 year old) and who doesn’t want to travel?!  We saw driving the iconic Pacific Coast Highway as a great thing to do for our first big trip away, and a great way of mixing things up and seeing different cities/towns and landscapes. It worked.

Adam + Anita // Auckland Engagement Photographer

I was very lucky to spend an afternoon at Muriwai with Adam and Anita, who are one very happily engaged couple 🙂 Luckily for them we had a stunner of a weekend – I can’t quite remember the last time I have seen a perfectly cloudless day like that. Magnificent you two. I hope you like these photos as much as I do. I can’t wait to bust out the camera on your wedding day!

Winter Portraits in St Heliers // Auckland Lifestyle Portrait Photography

The weather of late has been less than ideal to be honest. Wind, rain and some pretty cool temperatures have made for a ‘lovely’ start to winter so far! So when a day like this comes along and we have some time to take a walk along the waterfront it is not to be passed up.

As always, if you rather see yourself in photos like this then you need to get in touch with me now!

Autumn in Henderson // Auckland Lifestyle Photography

I had a funny sense of Deja Vu today as I decided to take a walk on a sunny day through the nature walks around The Falls Hotel in Henderson. I remember coming down here to take photos of the stream when I was fourth form in high School. I had my first camera, a Nikon FM10 (which was a fully-manual film camera), and the tripod that my Oma and Opa had given me for my birthday. It feels like only yesterday, but in fact was over 15 years ago!!! Freaky. Anyway, this was a lunchtime well-spent as you can see. Autumn is delivering the goods.
